This main floor remodel refreshed a tired early 90’s property and took advantage of the sweeping territorial view of SW Portland. We took out a wall separating the family and living rooms to create one large living space. We kept existing cabinets and repurposed several to expand the footprint of the kitchen, which now includes an 11’ island, with seating for 4. We added a gas burning fireplace to create a cozy hub encompassing the kitchen, dining and family room areas. We added a small wall in an awkward hallway to create a walk-in pantry and turned the old isolated dining room into a music room. The dated 90’s staircase was refreshed with new white oak rail and striking black balusters. The old vinyl, carpet and damaged engineered flooring was replaced with LVT for a durable long lasting flooring surface. The newly painted existing cabinets were topped with leathered white granite and a new counter depth fridge moved just 15” to the left created a much better flow between the garage and kitchen.
