Erin Leichty

My love for planning and architecture is in my blood. My father was a city planner for most of his long career and my mom was forever changing and redesigning her garden. When I was a child, during the late 80’s and 90’s, when SW PDX housing developments were booming, my aunt, mom and I, would walk the neighborhood exploring partially built homes, guessing what went where. I recall loving the smell of fresh cut wood and the wondrous possibilities each house held. I took drafting and architecture in high school and started my college career in the engineering program, where I eventually met my former husband. He would go on to become a structural engineer and we would build and design many projects together (he is still my go-to engineer). I settled on a fine art career while we raised our young children, but after parting ways and as my children became more independent, I was able to parlay the skills I had developed through our building projects, my art career and running a household into a design/build construction firm. I live and work in SW Portland and am a mother to a phenomenal teen son and tween daughter and two beautiful rescue dogs, Boss and Gracie.

Bob McCurdy

I met Bob in 2011 when I interviewed him to be the contractor for my own home addition. He had been recommended by an architect friend and she couldn’t say enough kind things about him. Over the time he bid and built our home I learned more about his extensive building experience and was so impressed by the thoughtfulness and transparency he brought to the remodeling experience. Bob has decades long experience in building subdivisions, custom homes and remodels. He participates in the city of Portland’s FIR program which expedites and streamlines the permitting process. Bob and I share subcontractors and collaborate on many projects where we can share in each other’s expertise. You can visit Bob’s website at www.alpenglowhomes.com
